AP Hits Atmanirbhar Milestone

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said the state has achieved another major milestone towards Atmanirbhar Bharat with the successful commissioning of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited’s Residue Upgradation Facility at the Visakhapatnam Refinery. As part of the Visakh Refinery Modernisation Project, the facility houses three of the world’s heaviest reactors and is expected to strengthen regional fuel supply while accelerating socio-economic growth in the state.

Reacting to Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri’s announcement, Naidu thanked Narendra Modi for his vision in boosting India’s energy security. He said the upgrade positions the East Coast, particularly Visakhapatnam, as a world-class refining hub. With a capacity of 3.55 MMTPA and advanced hydrocracking technology, the new unit marks a significant leap in indigenous engineering and self-reliance for the nation.
