‘Dhurandhar’ Goes Tax-Free in Ladakh, Boosting Film & Tourism Push

The blockbuster spy thriller Dhurandhar has been declared tax-free in Ladakh. Announcing the decision, Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta said the move underlines the UT’s support for cinema and its ambition to become a preferred destination for film shoots and tourism.
Shot extensively across Ladakh’s dramatic landscapes, the film’s tax-free status is also seen as a signal of policy backing, with the administration working on a new film policy and promising full support to productions in the region.
At the box office, Dhurandhar continues its dream run—crossing ₹600 crore in India and entering the ₹1,000-crore global club within weeks—cementing its place among the biggest Hindi film successes and giving a strong fillip to the spy-thriller genre.
