Director Turns Producer, Launches ‘What Next Entertainments’

Director Venky Kudumula, known for his youthful storytelling and signature humour, has taken a major leap in his career by turning producer. The filmmaker announced his maiden venture under his new banner, What Next Entertainments, marking a fresh chapter that blends his creative instincts with a mission to support new talent.

Sharing the news on X, Venky said the production house was born from the collective passion of storytellers, musicians, actors, and technicians. His first film introduces debutant director Mahesh Uppala, with Anaswara Rajan in the lead and music by S. Thaman. Titled #NewGuyInTown, the film’s first look and title will be revealed on Sunday.

Venky said his goal is to create opportunities for newcomers trying to find their footing in cinema. With this new banner, he hopes to nurture fresh voices and original stories, signalling his evolution from a hit director to a creator who also builds space for young talent to rise.
