Love Turned Deadly: Affair Ends in Murder-Suicide in Tirupati

In a shocking incident in Tirupati, a man allegedly murdered a woman after she refused to continue an extramarital relationship and later died by suicide, police said on Tuesday. The accused, Somasekhar, a gas delivery boy, allegedly slit the throat of Lakshmi, who worked at a roadside eatery, inside his rented room on the outskirts of the temple town.

Police said the two became acquainted during gas deliveries, which later turned into an affair. When Lakshmi decided to end the relationship, Somasekhar reportedly called her to his room under the pretext of a final meeting. An argument followed, after which he allegedly killed her and then hanged himself. The incident came to light after neighbours grew suspicious and alerted the police. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
