PK Land Row: Truth or Political Trap?

The allegations surrounding Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan over an alleged land grab have triggered a fresh political storm, drawing intense debate across social media and political circles. The controversy revolves around a valuable parcel of land located in Janwada village of Shankarpally mandal in Telangana’s Ranga Reddy district. As accusations gained traction online, several leaders of the Jana Sena Party stepped forward to defend their chief. Joining the chorus was noted producer and Jana Sena General Secretary Ram Talluri, who strongly dismissed the allegations, describing them as a politically motivated campaign aimed at tarnishing Pawan Kalyan’s image. According to him, Pawan’s public life has always been defined by sacrifice, integrity, and commitment to public service, making such accusations difficult to believe for those familiar with his journey.

Ram Talluri further argued that the growing popularity and political influence of Pawan Kalyan have unsettled his opponents, prompting them to resort to personal attacks rather than political debate. He described Pawan’s life as an “open book” that has been under public scrutiny for decades, asserting that no amount of misinformation can shake the trust people have placed in him. Party leaders echoed similar sentiments, claiming that the controversy has emerged because rivals are unable to counter his political rise. They maintained that the Janwada property in question was legally purchased agricultural land and that all required procedures, including mutation and ownership transfers, were completed long ago. According to Jana Sena representatives, the land was acquired in 2014 and has remained fully compliant with legal norms ever since.

Adding to the defence, party functionaries clarified that there are no illegal structures on the property and that it is being used solely for agricultural activities and plantation purposes. They insisted that all ownership documents, registrations, and tax records are valid and up to date, leaving no basis for allegations of encroachment. Jana Sena State Secretary Tatamsetti Nagendra termed the accusations a sign of political bankruptcy, alleging that rivals were unable to digest the public support enjoyed by Pawan Kalyan. Nellimarla MLA Lokam Naga Madhavi also backed the Deputy CM, stating that the land was lawfully purchased and supported by complete documentation and statutory approvals. With both sides holding firm to their positions, the issue has evolved into more than a land dispute—it is rapidly becoming a political battle over credibility, perception, and public trust.
