Rajinikanth celebrates 75th birthday

Superstar Rajinikanth marked his 75th birthday right where fans love to see him — on the sets of Nelson’s action-packed sequel ‘Jailer 2’.

Sun Pictures shared a video from the celebrations, showing Rajinikanth stepping out of his caravan, cutting a birthday cake with the team, and even feeding director Nelson before heading back to resume work. The production house captioned it simply: “Happy Birthday Superstar @rajinikanth! From the sets of #Jailer2.”

Rajinikanth had earlier said that filming would run until December, with the sequel carrying massive expectations after the first film’s ₹650-crore blockbuster run.

‘Jailer 2’ began shooting in March in Chennai and has since moved to locations like Attapaadi in Kerala. Ramya Krishnan returns as Viji, while Mirnaa and Mohanlal also play key roles. Anirudh, whose music defined the first film’s success, is back to score the sequel.

With teasers already sparking fan frenzy, Rajinikanth’s on-set birthday celebration has only amplified the buzz around one of Tamil cinema’s most awaited films.
