Telangana Plans Breakfast and Lunch Scheme for Govt Schools

The Telangana government is planning to introduce a breakfast and lunch scheme for students in all government schools across the state. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday reviewed an existing meal programme run by an NGO in schools in Kodangal and asked officials to assess the feasibility of expanding it statewide.

The Chief Minister directed officials to prepare a structured plan, proposing one centralized kitchen for every two Assembly constituencies to ensure timely meal delivery. He asked Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao to coordinate with district collectors to allot two acres of land or provide long-term leases for setting up these kitchens.

During a high-level education review, Revanth Reddy also set timelines for completing Young India Integrated Residential Schools, prioritised new school buildings in Hyderabad, discussed syllabus revision from Classes 1 to 10, and directed officials to speed up the construction of Veeranaari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University, signaling a broader push to strengthen public education infrastructure in Telangana.
