iBomma Ravi got bail in Online Piracy Case

The Telangana high court has granted conditional bail to Emandi Ravi, also known as iBomma Ravi, in a significant online piracy and unauthorized distribution case involving newly-released Telugu films through the iBomma website.

The court's decision came after Ravi had spent over 90 days in judicial custody since November 18, 2025, with a substantial portion of the investigation completed. Despite facing four criminal cases and being labeled as the mastermind behind a major movie piracy racket, Ravi has been granted bail with strict conditions. He is required to execute a personal bond of ₹25,000 with two sureties for a like amount in each case, surrender his foreign passport within a week, and remain present before the station house officer daily between 11 am and 5 pm until the chargesheet is filed.

Additionally, Ravi is prohibited from contacting witnesses, tampering with evidence, using certain digital tools, associating with persons connected to the alleged offences, and must cooperate with forensic examinations. The prosecution has the authority to seek cancellation of bail if any of these conditions are violated. This decision by the high court marks a significant development in the ongoing case and sets a precedent for online piracy-related matters.
