Salman: Slap Paparazzi Over ‘Hip-Shots’

Salman Khan has once again used the Bigg Boss 20 stage to call out a controversial practice in celebrity photography. During the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, the Bollywood superstar slammed paparazzi for deliberately clicking actresses from behind and then posting the pictures online with captions asking followers to “guess who it is.” Salman questioned why celebrities should have to tolerate something that makes them uncomfortable.

Salman cited incidents involving Saiee Manjrekar, Neha Dhupia and even his own niece, saying some women have openly shown discomfort or objected to such photographs. He urged actresses who feel uncomfortable to stand up for themselves, delivering his message in typically fiery fashion: “Jahan aisa hua, ghoom ke chamat maaro”—turn around and slap them. He also questioned the mentality behind repeatedly taking such pictures at public events.

The actor’s comments have reignited the debate around paparazzi boundaries, celebrity privacy and consent. Salman argued that many actresses, including women who have now become mothers, have never been comfortable with such images. His message to the paparazzi was blunt: if a shot makes someone uncomfortable, why click it in the first place?
